What Support!

The blog was up for one day and what amazing support I received.  I keep saying to myself this really could happen.  The two cakes I brought in for the "Grand Opening" of Cakes for a Mustang were sold by noon.  One of my closest co-workers purchased the cake and shared it with her team.  They all huddled together Ooohing and Ahhhhing like it was a new baby with its mother.  "It's so cute!"  Typically, those words coupled with that ever-so-sweet tone are not coveted by us male variety.  Nonetheless, I think I received the compliments well.  The other was purchased for a husband's birthday occurring tomorrow.

Within three hours of the blog being up, the site received over 100 page views.  Wow!  Thank you!  I know I shared it with about a dozen people and a few more, but the credit is due to those who believe in the "cause" and shared it with their closest of friends and co-workers.  For that I don't know how to share my appreciation.

Many have inquired if I'll make cupcakes and if I can do weddings.  The answer is probably yes to cupcakes; wedding cakes, well, let's just say not the big ones.  I'm not that good...yet.  However, someone mentioned to me if I could make many mini-cakes, similar to the carrot cake size, that could be made for each individual table. Huh.  Sure, I could do that.  Others have also asked if I will be making any other flavors.  Definitely.  I plan to keep it simple for you.  Double-layer cakes (carrot, chocolate, etc.) will be $10.  Specialty cakes and other sizes are subject to the specific cake, like my Oreo Ice Cream cake.  Now that's a big cake.  It can feed twenty people easy.

For now, I am focused on the 4 pre-orders for this Thursday and also bringing in 4 more on "Cake Day" (a.k.a. "Cake Fridays").
